How Fire Safety effects owners of Caravans and RVs.
Smoke Detectors
It has come to our notice that NSW has introduced new legislation that forces Caravanners and other travellers using any type of portable home to have working smoke detectors.
You can expect all states to follow, so avoid the fines, inconvenience of being put off the road and perhaps, even safe your life.
Under changes to the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation, smoke alarms must be installed in all new and existing moveable dwellings where people sleep (regardless of wether they are registered for road use or not).
